So:
Fronts are installed, tweeters about to go in (running stock, they actually sound OK) installed in factory tweeter pods.
Rears: Getting another set of the fronts (Pioneer 130Ci, I cut the tweeter down) to go into the premium audio shells (I want to try and avoid cutting the parcel tray, may just secure with 2 screws for now) with the crossovers installed under the tray (IIRC, there should be space).
two questions!
1. How imperative is the crossover? The front installation would be a PITA. Is there much to be gained? The factory one seems to be doing OK (btw - where is it located?)
2. How imperative is it to amp the speakers? I am running off the head unit (Pioneer 8400BT) with a 50W x 4output. I'm pretty happy with the sound as is - but would a lot be gained with amping it? I have little interest in a sub - Just needed something better than stock, but stock looking.
I'll try take some pics when done so you guys can judge if I did a shit job or not!
Cheers,
Gus

the crossovers are matched to the mids by the manufacture to get the best out of the speakers, why not install them behind the centre console, as for amps, if you are happy with the sound and output from the head unit then leave alone.

If you're fitting factory tweeters, I believe they have a crossover in the cable somewhere already.
No idea what frequencies they cut at though!!!
If you're using new tweeters in the pods, ideally you would run a new cable for them, so as stated, you could tuck the new crossovers away behind the glovebox/centre console/etc!!!
If you don't run a new cable, the existing crossover could interfere with the new one - you may never notice though!!! Just depends on the settings of the new & old crossovers!!!
