OK. I'm getting an MTech2 front spoiler for the Touring and I don't have foglights.
Fitting foglights is not an option, so which of the following do you think is preferable, bearing in mind that the spoiler needs work anyway.
1) Mesh the foglight, oil cooler and air-con holes?
2) Mesh just the foglight holes?
3) Smooth-over the foglight holes and slightly re-shape/enlarge the brake ducts?
Personally, I prefer the third option although it's going to be more work. What do you lot think?

Hate mesh on e30's. Do a photoshop to show what you mean about opion 3. easiest thing would be just to fit fogs, and not wire them in. problem solved.

I don't have photoshop and if I did probably wouldn't be capable of using it.
What I'm thinking is something similar to these, only maybe not quite so big.
(My apologies to Spadge for nicking his photo')

I don't particularly want to go the mesh route as I think it's "council". Am I right??

gimp is a free version of photoshop, available on the internet

The scoop bit that normally goes in next to the fog light shown here,

can you not use those instead of fog lights?
Turn them around and use nearside one for offside and vice versa, adapt to fit.

Get your hands on a cheap set of fogs then build up a few decent layers of of primer on the lenses. Sand them flat, then spray them body colour and install.
Ain't nothin fills a foglight gap like a foglight

That's pretty much what I was thinking.toby wrote:The scoop bit that normally goes in next to the fog light can you not use those instead of fog lights?

I used to have a photo' somewhere of a German E30 Touring with the foglight holes meshed - that was what made me think of it. I'll have to see if I can find it.
Neil, when I had foglights, I got through 2 and a half pairs in 18 months. I may have been unlucky, but I've been put off by that experience.
If you're looking for photos, e30.de, under "fotostories"... Only good stuff in there. And hardly any m20b20/25. it's at least 2.7, or s50/s38. Great suff!
As for your problem, you could also try to make covers out of fibreglass yourself? That is if you don't want to mesh them.

That's another thing I've been thinking. Fibreglass + modded standard scoops = bigger scoops and no foglight holes.suzie650 wrote:As for your problem, you could also try to make covers out of fibreglass yourself? That is if you don't want to mesh them.
I think the photo' I'm thinking of did come from e30.de.
