gearbox problem (no gears)

hi i wonder if any one could herlp i just put a new engine in my bmw it a 318i every thing was goin all a ok until i started it it runs like a dream but i got no gears at all.
it like the clutch stuck on i tryed adjustin the pedal and checked the slave cylinder on the clutch
please dont tell me i got to take the box out again

poss slave cylinder failure

yeah it a new slave cylinder
it really tryin me now lol i really dont want to take box off

has the clutch rusted to the flywheel? did you free it off before you put your new engien in? start it in gear and try and drive it around for abit braking etc and it might free itsself....if that is the problem

thats just it i cant drive it around no gears are ingagin at all they are goin into gear well it feels like it but when i let pedal up nouthin as if the clutch still down

Been thinking about this one,it's a bit odd!! The engine runs? The gearbox goes into gear? Bugger all happens when the clutch pedal comes up? Is it safe to discount the blindingly obvious such as propshaft not connected or a halfshaft ditto? If so this leaves the clutch it's self,the only thing I can think of is that the clutch plate is missing or it is rusted to the flywheel as already mentioned.Looks like the 'box has to come off for another look...

prop all ok wheels go round when i turn it and it conected to box i think u ryt it got to come out again
