Hi all, Well i've been here for a short while, read quite a few post and decided i should get my lastest project up on here.
To bring ya upto date so far i picked up the e30 just before chrimbo for 500 notes. I bought the car to trackday it as i've run a mk1 escort for few years and got adicted to trackdays but i'm frightened to death of ruining the mk1 as it would just cost a fortune to repair!
I came across this e30 and thought what a bargin and new it fitted the bill for what i wanted.
Its was totally standard with 130,000 odd on the clock, arches, etc are solid enough with a plate in the driver footwell and rear boot corner being needed.
I striped the car out and took pleasure in burning the interior in the field

ready for the firs trackday.
I decided i needed to keep things to a budget but wanted to get the car handling better so i've invested in a full set of spax adjustable shocks with a 60/40 drop and up-rated srings.
I then hit Oulton park for the day and was chuffed to bitz with the car but it left me hankering for some more power!
Next was my trip to NurburgRing at easter but unfortunatley the car only made it to leeds 70 miles into the trip! with a blown head gasket

iwas gutted. Now i'm back i got on the hunt for a suitable up grade. I wanted something straight forward to put in with little hassle but bags of power que in jaffro,
After putting up a wanted post and then Seeing that he had the full m30 conversion up for grabs and living locally i started typing him a msg and to my suprise he had responed to my wanted!! It my of been fate, I headed round on Sat to check out the goods and it was more than just good. Jaffro even took the engine out the same weekend!! what a guy.
So i now have a rather large engine sat in the garage, an e30, now i just need the 1 day challenge and get it fitted.

Roll on the weekend!!!

Random question!
Are they the standard wheels on the top pic? what size/make tyres? Going to the ring so thinking what wheels to run, got 8x16 with 195/45 tyres for a slight stretch at the mo and worried they wont be up to the job

i would like 205 better that 195 but they should hold out.
give it a blast round some roads to test it out.
did you get the engine in and running then?

Mate watch! ya can jump in rick! If i'm goin be scared silly then you guys can to an all!!
Jaffro - Everything was in but as you know i never got it started and had the water works to bleed up.
Things left to do since weekend:-
Power steering pump
throttle cable
prop
exhaust
then i can drive, drive, drive
I dropped the props off today at Firlow in Sandiway, they make props at there Congleton branch so hopefully get it back on friday. I Was goin for a 1 piece prop but quickly realised that i wouldn't get it on as you need to slide the front on to the output shaft from the box and then i wouldn't be able to swing the back of the prop into meet the diff because of the axle casing in way

S i've kept it simple and gone for a split prop
