Hello guys !

I have bought my car with a 2.5l engine. Then, i have put a 3.5l m30, and now i put a 3.4l turbo from 745i e23 (m106).

Here is some pics :

Very nice!

It's good to see someone else doesn't mind chopping up the front valance to fit and intercooler!

I've also chopped the battery tray out too

The 16 inch fan is a great idea! I would imagine I have space for one that big too, ow no, more money spent!

Great pics too!

Mark.

on a side note, what did u use to film attached to the outside of the car? ive been looking around for external camera mounts, but proper ones are very expensive!

It's an hybrid turbo : k27 / k29 (cold side)

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but if anyone in the UK's interested in doing a conversion similar to this, then PacerPete's got an E23 745i turbo. There can't be more than a dozen in the country, so I imagine he'll want sensible money for it, but even so, it's got to be a cost effective alternative to an S50 conversion....And it's easily tunable to 400bhp!

Nice project BTW! :P

Pete does indeed have one of these interesting cars.
It's only really suitable for a left hand drive conversion as far as the turbo plumbing goes, but better engine block and bits.

Lovely conversion Alex, nice work.

I can show you more details as the bracket on turbo side :

On the other side it's the e30.de bracket.

No more pics to date.

Let's put the drive shaft (from m3/324td e30) with big guibo :

Image

Image

The exhaust : It's not very easy to screw nuts on the turbo, there is no room ....

Image

Image

I will have to weld 2 fix fot the exhaust and i will be ok

These are manometers :
From top to bottom and from left to right :
OIl pressure, water t°, oil t° (I will inverse the 2 lasts)
Air/fuel ratio, EGT
Voltmeter, OIl transmission t°

Image

Stock tacho :

Image

I remove the tach to fit the turbo pressure :

Image

Image

Ii will fiddle tomorrow, il t's too late !!!

how can you do with out a rev counter?

i know its mostly done by ear but i with the new engine, are you used to how far you can rev it?

on a race car i thought it would be essential
