Thinking today about changing my 1989 325i sport, which at the mo is a auto, into a manual.
Perhaps buying a spares manual 325i car,and getting a sports manual box.
Just wondering has it been done before, and is it poss?
My mate said he'll do it,just finding out what work will be involved in doing it!
Any help/tips would be great.
Thanks

Parts: Mostly second hand from manual 325i/sport.
Flywheel and clutch, complete.
New flywheel bolts (bmw)
New Spigot bearing (ecp)
New guibo (ecp)
New rubber gearbox mounts (ecp)
New centre bearing (ecp)
325i manual prop, gearbox and gear linkage.
Small connecting wire for reverse lights
Pedal box assembly (I think you can just fit the clutch master cylinder and pedal to existing one for ease)
Hard and flexible clutch hydraulic lines
Clutch fluid reservoir and pipe and bracket.
Gearbox support x member (325i manual)
New gearbox oil and possibly output bearing seal. (ecp)
New gear gaitor, gear nob and a rear hanbrake/centre console bit (main front centre console is the same)
There are two wires you need to short/join to allow the engine to crank (auto's only crank when a switch tells them they are in park or neutral).
I recently converted an engine to manual and fitted to a manual car. Use the auto rad, just disconnect the gearbox oil cooler pipes and drain the oil out of the rad.
Easy!
Hope this helps dude.

iF YOU DO THIS YOU ARE MUCH BETTER OFF WITH A DONOR CAR otherwise sourcing all the right bits becomes a problem.

might be good for the bits, especially the box.car is still complete so if you give him a parts list he might be able to sort most of it.think hes in scotland though.
