E30 Zone

Found this on ebay.

I think its from a clio.

Rod needs extended a bit but perfect fit otherwise.

That looks like an E30 servo that aint grown up !!!!

Looks perfect for the job.......

Thats what im using with my conversion, no modding, welding or drilling needed to make it fit either.

AND its made by Bosch





I will be swapping the master cylinder soon though as I think it could be better.
(even though ive been running with it for 6 months)

Do me a favour and try the standard E30 master on yours, something I never did with it out of the car

Looks like the same size as the Golf one im using!

Does this one not require the spacer then for the master cylinder rod?

Never tried it with the E30 master cylinder eko, I left the original on to see how it performed.

Thats how the Golf one is on mine,have to make a spacer to make up the space!

would need to make a rod with a cup on the end like ====< so the rod <==== pushes into it ?

Too much pedal travel eko. It needs to move more fluid IMO, so a larger bore master cylinder is what im on the lookout for.

I just used a piece of threaded rod(cut the head off a bolt) and inserted it into the back of the master cylinder.
Think i measured mine to about 10mm?

That would be consistant with your rod being too short then ??

you have to use all the pedal to extend the rod fully...

by extending the rod too much would have the opposite effect ??

Is an E30 master cyl much bigger than the one your using now(Clio)?

I made this mistake,making the pedal travel too short,just cut my spacer down another few mm!

id say it was 3" smaller

Im using the standard clio master cylinder, no rods or anything needed making up to do this which is why I left it 'as is'

mibby something to do with the rod that attaches to the brake pedal in the clio, must travel further ?? the master cyl looks similar size.

i fitted 25mm piece of bar to the servo, this gives me the same movement as the e30 item.

could one of you two (danthe/m-dtech) measure the diameter of that clio servo please!

just wondering if it might be a fraction smaller than my golf 1.3 servo. more space is always a good thing

Im on the lookout for a better master cylinder to use, I dont think its moving enough fluid for the E30's brake system, maybe different on non ABS cars though.

why not use the e30 master cylinder instead of the renault ?

turns out the 1.3 golf servo is 200mm - so probably better to use that clio one unless space really is at a premium

Guys very interesting thread!!!! let us know which 25mm MC to get!!! i`m dying to here from you! i`m up to this point now in my S50b30 conversion...and was stressing!

I think the problem im having may be down to the ABS. Ive been 'testing' today and the pedal only sinks when the ABS kicks in.
I will do some more 'testing' tomorow with the ABS relay out.

bmw master cyl fits the clio servo if you place a piece of 25mm bar in the master cylinder then push onto the servo.

Would the Renault servo with the stock E30 master cylinder combo interfere with the plenum on the S50? Would the Audi MC be a better choice? Or could I get away with just moving the servo/MC assembly sideway?

i used a polo g40 servo and a audi 80 quattro 25mm master cylinder on mine. it all bolts on with no mods at all. with ok clearance with a s50 fitted. the pedal is short on the standard calipers, but should "i hope" be ok when larger calipers are fitted.

I have also been told there are 2 different types of clio servo. I was going to put a 25mm spacer but have now decided to extend the rod.

There are, the early ones are no good (steel wing cars) you need the servo of the later plastic winged cars
