Which conversion?

There are lots of mental conversions goin on out there but which gives the most power and speed and is relatively easy to do. Obviously the S50 gives about 300bhp but seems a lot of work to do, what about 2.7 converesion or 2.5 turbos, what power do they put out.

Glenn has a 4.4 IIRC M5 V8 in one of his, he's doing a 5.0 V12 for dips too
Thats the mental end there are a few S50 and S52 cons which are running well - Fozzy has a turboed 2.5 which is putting out some rediculous BHP like 300+ with his huge holset turbo.
Basically anything can be done there are 2.7 galore on this site which have been done in many different ways. If you are going to do one though then it is best to pick somthing you really want to d if you are doing the work yourself as it will take a lot of time and effort!

Cheers for the info Widge, yeah I will be doing the work myself, and am just away to start work offshore so I won't be home much for long periods of time so I was looking for a quick easy conversion to do. I saw glenns extreme projects and think this might be a bit ott for me, but fair play I would obviously love one of them. I just want something with a bit of extra poke. Does the 2.7 in its various forms all give the same basic performance or are there some methods that are far grater that others?

If you go for the 2.0->2.7 coversion which is easy and could be done in a day if you had all the parts then you can expect 170-180 bhp depending on if you go for cams and tuning etc.
If you go for the 2.5->2.7 conversion it will take more time and effor as you will actually have to build the engine rather than just bolting a head to a block, but you can expect 180+ depending on tune and compression etc
Both good conversions and there is plenty of info on them, and you stick with the M20 which obviously keeps the plug and play making it nice and simple if you don't like wiring ike me!
Having said that I'm very tempted by the 4ltr V8 on ebay!

Yip wiring scares the shit out of me.
I have a decent 320 so I'm part of the way there. A search is on the cards for the rest of kit, 325 injectors, cam etc.
I take it my obc will still work regarding oil level? and a new chip is all that is needed on the electric side or is it more detailed than that??

2.7 zone chip in the ECU will be it in the wireing.
I have a 2.5 inlet manifold when you get closer to needing the parts, And the Check Panel will still work if you have the sump with the sensor in it.
