Under 14 steve? I think you will be very very very lucky to get under that mate. You need 250bhp+ in an e30 i think to get under 14, probably more like 300bhp.

no way you'll see under 14's Steve I'm afraid. May even be lucky to see it in the 14's if i'm honest.
Lads, you'll just have to wait for me to get a Supra turbo lump into an E30 and find some traction to see those times

betty did 15.9, that car allegedly put down 192bhp on the rollers too.
I reckon you will need to be into the realms of 300BHP+ to see 14's out of an E30

				jfyi...
mk2 golfs running tuned 1.8t's or highly tuned g60's (approx 280-300bhp) only just verge 14's, and the mk2 is a lighter car!!
surely a 3.5 six should get 14's?

im thinking to put the 6branch on and stick her back on the rollers
before i take her off the road
would be nice to see what she is capable of

i think with the s50/s52 conversions you can see low 13's.. they are 290+hp and rev over 7k..
standard m50 wont be any better than mid/high 14's esp in a cab

Do it Daz! Would love to see what it is making now, get rid of the cone filter and put the standard airbox back on as it has a K&N panel filter in there and has better bottom end pull

				Screw 14's, I'm going for 12's!!
May need some sticky rubber on the day and some nifty clutch work but if I don't break into the 12's I'm gonna cry

never been on the 1/4 mile with mine yet, still ironing out the little problems.i know mine is technically not bmw powered but do you think it would crack the 14 second time?

I would think with a nice set of slicks you'd be able to crack it easy, i think you might just get into the 13's. when you are back up to 350bhp, you should be good to go.

Cosworth or BMW... its still an E30 - no concours car is going to make much of an impact on a drag strip. As for the golfs, thats nice power - but you'll be losing quite a bit on launch to FWD.
My other car is a Fiat Coupe, and they're taking ToTB quite seriously. They're hoping to take two 500bhp coupes this year. Apparently thats what you need for a 12s quarter on FWD - oh, and DOT approved non-street drag tyres. (Whatever the hell they are!).
I do think that a nicely tuned E30 could make an impact on the handling circuit if it was low, stiff and had good brakes and tyres - and possibly a turbo?

My car ran 14 dead at the Pod.
It was a sweaty hot day, and the car was fully loaded with interior and ICE. I'm not especially light either

I'm sure with some practice and a bit of interior/ICE removal it would drop well into the 13's.
Ian.

				nice one
well that just shows what you need to be doing to even push low 14's / high 13's.
I swiftly concluded after running my modified 325 and being gutted with the results that some sreious amount of power would be needed, not to mention traction, in order to see decent times.
Anoys the hell out of you when you see the shit box novas with the XE lumps cruising into 13's & 14's on little over 200bhp

His suspension was set way to hard. No weight transfer = no traction.
Sounded awesome though an a nice chap. Was straight on the phone sourcing another shell when Martin rolled the M3 turbo.

Just need to fit front springs and a small patch of welding on the exhaust before it'll get a ticket. It runs, sounds healthy and has a superb sound now, the screamer pipe needs to be heard to be really appreciated

Am picking up the extra bits for sparks soon also, then it'll be safe to run it at effecient pressure levels to get some decent numbers.
Mark.

				not sure daz
at TOTB they run the cars over a 500m distance not the 1/4 mile, as this is the only internationally recognised distance for some reason, but it is evidently a bit longer than a 1/4 mile judging by the times of the vehicles compared to spec etc
