From what ive read the 2.0 is not the best engine to be using for your conversion!
Under powered and costly on fuel.
Cant you get a 2.5 and fit that instead?
Or maybe just drop an M40 1.8 in as a direct swap?

The mans right, if your going for the m20 engine swap might as well go all out and get the 2.5.
(Probably a lot cheaper just to buy a 325i though, seem to be getting cheaper all the time)

Go for the 2.5, similar MPG as the 2.0, but a lot more fun !!

the car is fitted with a 318i engine (very badly) as i've just notice when i took it out! and i would love a 325i engine but i got a whole car 320i for £90 from a bloke in brum which only has 90000 on it and 15"bbs alloys so i could't say no! it's almost in now anyway! i loads of pics ofit anyone know how to get em up here????
if anyone wants parts i've still got a whole 4 door soon to be removed.

i took my engine out of a four door so the loom was longer etc i'm still putting it in and i would say you must label every connection on the loom and cooling system as it's anightmare when you try to refit it all.
it's not that hard if you take the time to remove it and not cut things.

coundnt you just plugin in the engine loom to your existing loom.

you might be able to if you mean the front loom section on the passenger side then use the 320i ecu on the drivers side but ask on tech help on here as i'm not sure??
