E30 Zone

I've picked myself up a lovely condition 316 baur TC
Its running the 1.8 carb M10 with auto transmission.
The body is super mint but the engine is suffering a bit

Im looking to see if an engine swap into something quite a bit more punchy is possible?

I understand that being an auto + a carb will make it a more annoying swap than usual and many people would probably just leave it alone. But im hoping to see if anyone can advise me about going about and engine swap + manual transmission fitting?

Not dure where to even start here so a run though of the process + approx costs would be massively appreaciated

Have a look in the engine swaps forum - anything you like, from the injected version of the engine you have, through the M40, M42, M20, M5x, the 'S' variants, BMW V8s and V12s, to engines from other manufacturers, plus there's superchargers and turbochargers. (A 1200bhp version of your engine once powered a Brabham F1 car.)
The suspension and brakes on your car are also near the bottom end spec. of that fitted to E30s, so any serious increase in power will also require attention here as well.
