Which engine conversion?

Hi all,
my track toy has just said goodbye to it's latest M20B25 so it's time to make my decision about which way to jump.
I don't have the time/skill to do it myself and also have a budget so can't go for a mental upgrade.
As mentioned it's a track toy so I'd like a bit more power but would like to introduce a little more reliability as it gets treated hard!
Options I'm aware of:-
just stick another M20B25 in (cheapest/easiest option but I get no extra power)
M52 (M50 adds weight which goes against the principle of my track car)either B25 or B28. The 28 obviously has more power but someone has said the 25 revs better?
All opinions, pros & cons for possible options welcome :-)

M50/52 are great swaps. Plenty of power, would around 1000 to do your self i reckon.

S50/S52/S54 however... Much much more fun. also more expensive. Have 4000-7000 ready to blow on one of the swaps. But well worth it imo. Also increases value of car if done right.

Let me know if u need any help with conversions. Parts, wiring, complete fit etc ;)

Cheers
Turk

Cheers Turk,
I don't have the time/tools/knowledge to DIY, much prefer spending my time driving it.
Speaking to Rich at Fritz's he can do an M50B28 conversion (with associated bits) for £3-4K, if you know of anyone that can do it for less, I'm happy to listen.
Other option I'm considering now is to buy a complete car with the conversion already done (saw one that was sold last month for £2995), swap all my track parts onto it and flog the other parts/shell/car to offset some of the cost.
Anyone selling a M50 B28 converted e30?

It's quite easy to get all the parts together yourself and I'm pretty sure there are people on here who would do it for less than £3k. Also there's no reason to go to added expense of putting the B28 internals into an M50 block unless you plan to turbo it.
