E30 Zone

There's a big hole in the Wiki regarding engine swaps; nothing on M40-M20, M40-M42, M20-M20, let alone the non-E30 variants.

Since I'm doing my own M20-M20 swap at the moment, I'm using the experience to document engine removal and refitting, and which ancillary parts needs changing between each engine swap.

So, can the experienced folks run their eye down this list to confirm the initial steps:

Undo the exhaust
Remove tunnel heatshields and gearbox guard.
Undo prop bolts
Unclip gear shifter from selector rod
Remove gear shifter
Unbolt clutch slave cylinder.
Undo reverse light switch.

Unclip throttle cable
Unclip rubber boot from throttle body
Remove air filter/AFM
Undo fuel hoses
Drain coolant.
Remove coolant hoses inc heater hoses.
Unmount radiator.
Remove fan.
Remove plastic shroud.

Undo earth strap.

***IF keeping loom***
Unscrew alternator wires.
Unscrew starter motor wires.
Separate C191 plug
Uscrew hose/cable guard under intake manifold.
Withdraw loom.

***IF not keeping loom***
Unscrew ECU inside car
Push ECU plug through firewall

If fitted, unmount carbon cannister
Unbolt power steering pump and secure.

Remove engine mount nuts.
Undo gearbox subframe bolts.
