HI Guys,

I'm new to the forum but I'm not new to BMWs. I own E92 M3 superchargered with a low compression built motor. But now I have decided to get an E30 to fullfill my childhood dream of owning one.

I'm located in Taiwan , but I'm working with my friends in the USA to put a S54+tranny into my 1989 E30

has anyone have experience?

will the car understeer a lot after the transformation?

With that much power I don't think understeer will be a problem ;)

It is a technical compromise compared to a lighter engine, but in context I don't think it's massive, you can easily add or remove 50-100kg's around the car by having passengers or a full take of fuel, yes you can sometimes just feel the difference but it does not exactly ruin the car.

Hope the project goes well,

Neil

thanks for the input guys! the car is at the bodyshop right now just cleaning it up a bit. I'm going to lighten up the hood first just to get the weight off the front more. but just doing some studying on the E30 and engine swaps.

interesting so far :D

VEMS can run the dual vanos if you swap to cable.
