Piston/Rod/Crank Combo's

Have done various searches for hours looking for answer to my question, on here and Google.

I'm just curious at the moment and doing a bit of research before i buy the car/bits.

I've read that obviously the M52B28 bottom end will fit into the M50B25 iron block complete, and that for non turbo you can use B28 crank with B25 piston and rods for slightly higher comp ratio. (dont quote me on this, i skim over the bits about raising CR)

My curiosity is in using the standard B25 crank with B28 rods/pistons to lower comp ratio for safer turbo'ing. The capacity should stay the same as the stroke is the same. Or would it be better idea to keep the B25 crank and rods and fit the B28 pistons as i believe they are slightly shorter.

Only info out there seems to relate to stroking engine to 2.8 as i've said, im not interested in capacity, just think that the Iron block M50 is more reliable for turbo without having to spend millions on new forged bits.

As we've probably all seen in PBMW this month the M50B25 non vanos is running 480ish bhp standard. I want to lower comp slightly for more peace of mind.

Opinions?
