is this a stpiud or interesting question? SAY you mount an engine solidly (i mean no rubber bushings) onto the chassis/shell of ur car, what would be the good/bad effects?
thanks,

a lot of vibration, and i mean a lot. it's not a good idea for road use.
racing cars have stiffer/solid mounts, presumably to get better throttle response because the engine twists less when you put your foot down

i think youd find you had a very bad headache within minutes mate
the vibration would be very severe without the rubber mounts and bumps in the road would possibly rip the mountings out of the chassis
i wouldnt fancy trying to drive anywhere but on a track in it to be honest and it may even be too harsh for that

urethane engine and tranny mounts work well for me...nice compromise, i dont find em too harsh to use on the road. they also prevent the engine moving and damaging stuff......like radiator lines if one shears, or parts of a turbo setup if you had one.

i used solid engine mounts on my 20l 16v xe engine, they wer nt too bad other than the fact that it would shear bearbox housings!

go poly
