ok, ive got a 323i with a 325e engine in it. As the engine is snuffed i was thinking of putting an m30 2.8 in it like alpina did with the b6. questions are - Is this engine an easy bolt in? is there any differance in the wiring of the jet tronic engine management systems ie can i wire the exsisting 323i jet tronic system to the 2.8 and just change the chip? What extra part would i need to perform this operation? any help would be appreciated
Cheers

well i'd say 1) no, 2) no idea but maybe, and 3) a lot of parts

custom engine mounts, m30 gearbox, custom prop. not worth it as the 528i engine is heavier and not a lot more powerful than a 325i m20. alpina did a fair bit of work to the 2.8 to give enough power to make it worthwhile, a standard engine won't be a lot different to a 325i and will cost a lot lot more.

i'd build an m20 2.7 or put an m30 3.5 in, which is the same work as the 2.8
