Hi had my 93 316i touring just over a month and love to bits but having trouble trying to find a non standard exhaust as mine is blowing, so perfect excuse to upgrade. Anyone that has a 316 or had experience in buying for the 316 would be a great help to me. Plus got the Scottish meet in 2 weeks time so kinda need it for then. Thanks Colin

Try Europarts in Edinburgh or Glasgow,GSF in Glasgow(both do mail order BTW) or any of your local tyre & exhaust places.
Even your local garage should be able to get the section you need from the likes of Dingbro/Brown Brothers etc

Will an exhaust from a 318i fit a 316i?

There are not really any gains to be had from an exhaust, but for the potential price difference I can understand why someone would look at a 'performance' stainless steel replacement as it probably wont be much more than a mild steel pattern part.

I do know of cases where buying a replacement standard exhaust costs twice as much as going for an aftermarket stainless steel item.

I'm not going for the exhaust for its performance more for the looks of a nice tailpipe without putting on an ugly tailpipe trim. I was given a price today of a stainless cat back exhaust made by Longlife of £190 plus i get to choose the tailpipe aswell so I think I'll go for that.

A bit late, but since you're from Kelty.
I went to FifeAutoParts near Glenrothes for an Audi exhaust (I bought the back box on ebay, because it can be made quiet or loud), they then took the back box and made a custom exhaust for me, I could even specify for it to have back fire.
