m50 oil cooler

Hi everybody!
I've been trailing through many previous topics but can't find one on fitting the m20 oil cooler to your newly fitted m50! just wondering if it is possible and if it is worth it??
Only reason I ask is because on a recent track day, the m5o was running sweet until a few too many laps thrashing it, the temp guage would start to creep up pretty high and on the way in to the pitts there was a very loud horrible sounding tappy noise. I imagine I have cooked the oil and lost oil pressure to at least one of the tappets? After a cool down it would run perfect again until a few too many laps thrashing it, the same would happen agian! I keep meaning to ask opie oil man if there is a better oil that will stand the thrashing! I'm using fuchs at the minute but its only semi synthetic.
Any help much appreciated, and if it is possible and worth it, where do you stick the pipes?
Cheers
Jody

You dont need an oil cooler, but if you decide to fit one you will either have to fit M3 housing/alternator/pas pump or buy a kit from the states that replaces the filter housing cap
