m50 conversion how much??

Hi how much would a M50 conversion cost if i got it done, drive in out, by someone and who would you recomend??? which one is the better one to go for 325i or 328.

Ive heard of one or two places charging 3.5k+ for an M50 drive in/out.

DiY cost will depend on how good a welder/fabricator you are and how good an auto electrician you are...parts cost is at least £500 depending on how much new stuff you buy.
The 'odd and silly' things cost soon adds up,Beemerlad posted the other day that an engine full of consumables(oil,filters,brake fluid etc) was over £100!
Time wise,you must be looking at 40-60 hours labour at least...
Which is better out of M50/M52? Bigger the better!

It also depends on the car itself. If you start with a 4 pot, you will also want to upgrade the brakes + suspension to 325i stuff. And if you buy all new brakes + bushes for the car while your at it, it soon adds up!

Hi, I have just purchased 2x M60b40 V8's for conversion into my touring, I currently have an M50 fitted, I will be looking to sell the M50 Complete setup at the end of Sept when I am in my new House, so I can fund a manual gearbox for the V8.
PM me if you are keen, I will do the complete swap for you for approx £1300.
