Hi,
Does anyone know a good place to get the head waterways welded and cylinders oringed, and do you know rough price?
I know a lot of the american turbo guys have done this mod to increase the amount of boost they can run. I am currently running 10psi on a late (8.8cr) engine and dont want to run more boost at the moment as am worried about the stock headgasket. Does anyone run more PSI on the stock gasket and bolts?
Cheers
Dan

Im down south in hampshire.
Looking to get the head o-ring as easier then getting the block done if im welding the water channels.
Where was yours done and did they pre-heat the head before welding?

Speak to Ant at Atech about O-ringing heads. I don't think he will recommend it from what I can remember.

I have a H1C running 10psi at the moment on standard head, studs and gasket. What bhp was he running at 22psi? Im looking for max 350bhp really. What are you running?
Cheers

My friend is at about 400hp or so.
As his 42lbs injectors are maxing out.
This car

And he´s not the only one.
My other friend with this car.
http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80719
Is at 1.3bar on a 2.5 and he´s maxing out his 42lbs.
Now 60lbs are the smallest I´d go on a M20B25, And a HX40 is the smallest I´d go
Cause neither of them is having problem with low end drivability.

hey dan ,when you say studs ,i take it you mean arp or race ware items ?
if it were my engine with standard head with arp studs ,i would not be too worried about raiseing the boost and haveing the fueling checked ,but you may find someone on e30 tech that knows the rough psi limit with a h1c and just studs with a standard head
at the moment im running 0 psi ,my car ran for the first time on mega squirt a few weeks back ,just for a few seconds but it made me a very happy man ,.
the engine i have is totaly standard m20 b25 8.8.-1 55lb delpi injectors garrett gt4088 and a large front mount air -air cooler
iam going to run up to 10 psi then when my new engine is ready i will raise the boost up slowly to 20psi just for a laugh

and for my own experiance

No im running standard studs at the moment. Thinking of getting the ARP studs and if i take the head off may as well get the head welded!
I have been using the internal wastegate for a while set at 6psi but it would go over this at about 4000 rpm and make tons of boost so i had megasquirt with the boost cut 10psi so have been driving it using my foot to control the boost, hitting the megasquirt limit isnt fun at 100mph! But have spent the whole weekend fitting a external wastegate, its all done and its a shame the ebay manifold doesnt provide for one already! All that is missing now is the boost pipe from turbo to wastegate, but will fit that tommorow and hopefully 10psi all day!
It runs great on megasquirt and the turbo is lots of fun, the engine has done 160,000 miles and i knocked the sump off and drove it a couple of miles just before i added the turbo and it amazing it still works!

if you only have standard head fixings they are just bolts ,and in that case i would not raise the boost any more ,
lol at the sump, its not the 1st 325 too loose a sump an i wont be the last

were abouts in hampshire are u then dan , would love a look at your e30 some time
