S50 - Spacer on left engine mount?

Hi!
It's time to drop in my S50B30, and somewhere for a while ago, I read something about a spacer on the left engine mount / mounting arm?
How thick should this spacer be? And why do I need it (To clear off what)?
And it's only on the left side? (The cars left side / Inlet side?)
Thank you very much!
Oh, and this is my engine mounts...

And here, from the same shop that sells some M50 / S50 swap parts:

The only problem is that I don't have time to wait for the spacer to arrive if I order it, and I really don't want to pay that much for an aluminum spacer that I can make at work in 10 minutes.
Anyway, from the pics I would guess it's about 10mm thick... what do you think?

i did not use any spacers with mine. just e28 m5 engine mounts on the e36 arms. works fine!!

If those are standard E34 mounts you should save yourself some work and throw them in the bin now as they wont be any use to an S50, they will flex way to much

Actually, I don't know what car they came from. I will check the part number today.
But what kind of engine mounts should I use, that is not as flexible, and do not require spacer on one of the sides?

Its easily done
Ive had no problems with mine on the E28 M5 mounts.
Reference the spacer, I have heard of people using spacers to 'tilt' the engine to create more ARB/subframe clearance for the exhaust manifold, but also to minimise the angle of the gearbox if the M20 box is used - but I would guess thats mainly on M50 conversions.

Yeah, at the page I was refering to earlier that sells the spacer and engine mounts, it says to be mounted on the left side.
But I wasn't sure if that was the cars left side, or the left side when you are facing the engine bay (Cars right side).
Cause the most sensible thing would be, like you said, to create more room for the exhaust manifold.
I need to get the engine in tomorrow, and won't be able to get my hands on some E28 M5 mounts by then. But I would fit the engine so I can start to fabricate and mount all the other stuff while I'm waiting for my garage floor to be finished (The car is at my work now), and then change the engine mounts later to the E28 M5 mounts
So I guess I will have to space it up about 10mm on the exhaust side to make as much space as possible for the manifold (And still not fitting right, I guess ;)).

I made some temp static mounts from M10 threaded rod and nuts and washers, 69mm high from mountig face to mounting face if that's any help. They have to go in the OUTER (slotted) hole of the E30 subframe if you want to use the E36 engine arms. But the angle of the mounting faces (subframe/engine arm) is slightly different. This can be overcome with the rubber mounts or a set of dedicaded rubber mounts from AKG motorsport for $200
