most ppl go for the 2.5 its a straight fit using the 2.5 engine and box plug and play for the electrics but this will upset ppl as theres always the big dilema on whats better a 318is or a 325i. where are you based about ?

318is is arguably a better all rounder but the 325i is quicker and smoother with a much better sound.

What's your budget?

M50B25, 24v, 192bhp stock, from a e36/e34, a well documented conversion, many favour the M52B28 for the extra lungs in the same space, more tuning potential for little cash, well reasonable anyway.

If you have funds there's a few 3ltr and 3.2ltr M3 engines on ebay winkeye

If I had a 'is' and had noticed appletree's changing his 205bhp supercharger to a rotrex, I'd be wondering what he's doing with the old one :D

Engine and ancils I payed £400 from a zoner. I have seen a few others go on here for about this sort of price.

It's relatively simple conversion, although I spent the last 3 weeks tearing my hair out as it wouldn't run (another story).

I started with an IS, gearbox bolts straight up to it which is nice :)

My engine conversion will have cost 600 ish in the end, but this includes everything right down to fresh oil plugs etc etc. I'm hoping it will be good value for money

See here for what I'm doing :)
