Ok, I'm in the middle of an m44 conversion at the mo, engine is in and running, only on the existing 316 mounts as a temp measure.

The problem we are having is the sump - it is the wrong way round, and it means we are going to have to modify the anti roll bar, as it was designed to sit round the old sump! 8O

Has anybody else had an issue like this with any other conversions? I want to bring the sump forward so the ARB can fit in unmodified.

Will engine mounts for an e30 is work ok for this? At the moment the sump is VERY close to the floor, having a guard made to counter this, but am concerned about the ARB issue. Time is a bit short, so need to make the right choice in mounts.

Anybody with any info is welcomed!!!!

I think you need a an m42 sump? Was your old 316 an m40? I am not sure if the sumps are the same with the m40 and m42.

Sorry that is not that helpful :)

Thats good news - thanks mate - will have to look at swapping them over if possible then! :D

Where is OB's? Do you happen to know how much would he want for the sump? Will struggle to collect though (having no car!)
