megasquirt pwm idle

Hey chaps,
Quick q, anyone using pwm idle on megasquirt? I've never been able to get the m42 idle valve to behave, thought mb i should just swap over to an m20 one if I could grab some settings off someone else's. My circuit seems good, can control a lightbulb no probs, but can't really get the idle valve to do anything of much use other than make funny noises and buzz at chosen frequency. I'm using ms2extra 2.0 release.

What circuit are you using? I have settings for the 3-wire M20 ICV's.
See halfway down the page.

would they work on an "is"?

Think the "is" uses a 2-wire ICV. Just needs a more powerful transistor to drive it on an MS V3 board. 3.57 MS boards dont need any modification.

ah groovy, thanks, that's just what I was looking for! I use a TIP 12x transistor on a v3 board. And yeah the M42 has a two wire job.

We should work out some M42 settings for PWM and closed loop Tim. Wanna pop over one night next week?

yup can do dude, let's play it by ear though, am in bristol mon and tues playing with the m3 (and mb timing chain on mine, but doubt I'll have time!), but mb later on in the wk

Would you be kind enough to send me the settings

If I had them I would. I remember that I used 100hz for the PWM frequency then about 40 for the idle DC. I never got closed loop to work too well so just used the fixed pwm settings. I spent HOURS messing about with it - enjoy :p
