Cone shaped stainless bits, where from?!

I'm in need of a bit of pipe which goes from 2.5" at one end to 3" at the other.

Don't think Jetex sell that kind of thing and it'd take me an age to make something like that.

Anyone know where you might be able to buy a stainless steel cone with a 1.6mm wall thickness?

Really want it to be a smooth taper rather than a stepped thing to be honest, I wouldn't be happy using one of the Jetex or the ebay linked stepped jobbie really :(

Many thanks for the input on those though guys

Will have an ask at the autofactors, fingers crossed!

Have also e-mailed the people I bought some Cats from a few years back as those had cones welded on thinking about it.

Would it be possible to cut a v section from a 3" tube of the correct length and tig it yourself? You seem rather nifty with a tig torch.... lol

Really want it to be about 70mm long. There's probably an ideal angle for the walls of the cone, but like so many things I'm limited to what will fit and not what's ideal

Hmm, could cut a 100mm long section of 3" pipe, split it down the middle so that the circumferance at one end matched a 2.5" pipe and then weld it up. That's a pretty good idea J! :D Saves having to make a former to bend bits of sheet around!

Matt, that would be f'ing awesome!

How eccentric are the eccentric ones? The would be mega handy as the outlet from the turbo just about overlaps the suspension turret!

One of the |/ ones would be absolutely spot on Matt!

Would you be able to hook me up for one of those? Just lemme know how much and I'll pop a cheque in the post if that's alright?

What sort of wall thickness are they out of interest?

Cheers!

Alex.

They do all stainless reducer sizes in 1.6mm wall. Online ordering as well. Should be about a fiver.

Wow, small world! I found that site when I was looking for some stainless steel tube to make oil feed pipes from.

They seem to charge the earth for P&P though, and Matt's sorting me out with a cone too
