afternoon folk's.
i'm looking for a bit of help/advise.
been thinking a lot lately about turboing my 2.6 m20 lump. i'm only looking at at going for around 250-300bhp not massive power.
a mate has got a brand new never used T3 turbo & intercooler which he willing to let me have at a very good (read cheap) price so that's sorted.
I know i'll need the likes of MS to run it all but which one??
also would I have to change back to a standard cam or would my catcams 276dg be ok?? (got a spare rebuilt griffin motorsport head with a standard cam if need be)
also would I get away with using a decomp plate/thicker head gasket? also I've been looking on ebay at turbo exhaust manifolds would these be upto the job??
any help or advise would be a great help, but like I say i'm not after massive power I just want a good extra dose of power that's good & useable.
thanks in advance.

The standard cam would be better than the 276. You dont need a lot of overlap for F/I.
MSII would run it and do everything you need it to.
Compression, depends what you are running now?
Not had any experience personally with ebay manifolds, but they need bracing to strengthen them up. I wouldn't expect a lot from the price of them.

Thanks for that Byron, just mulling it over at the minute,
As for the manifold, there's a place over chesterfield that makes exhaust manifolds (bespoke so not cheap) so I might have a word with them about one.

hi . im building a turbo car aswell i cant help you on the megasquirt front much as i haven't researched it in detail, I'm sure if you contacted some sellers on here - http://www.msextra.com/suppliers.html they could help out, also try the forum search
im going to run adaptronic 420d once i have de-rusted the chassis, i looked into other systems and this was the one i liked mainly because it has inbuilt map sensors and good aftersales support
what psi is your engine running - is it a 2.7 or bored out lump - the later low comp engines 8.8: 1 are good to run boost straight out the box
as for the cams low overlap cams are better as the high lift cams allow the cylinder head to effectively let the air flow straight in and straight out of the head - i bought a good turbo book by graham bell which i can recommend for a general guide - quick google gives this kind of info which explains the overlap in more detail -- http://www.hotrod.com/pitstop/hrdp_1011 ... ewall.html
