What diameter is the steering column? Not the housing... the actual column...
Ooooooor how can I check it without dropping the whole column?

I would try measuring it just above the column linkage u/j...

I did have a look at that before and can only really measure the spline, which looks to be the same diameter as the column, but could be slightly out...
Will let you know how I go...
