Just a few pics even though it was raining i had to fit my homemade smoked headlights with e92 hid components

I think the headlights compliment the crystal smoked indicators well

Looking good.

Why'd you use E92 parts to do the conversion? What are the benefits? (curious as i've heard of a few people doing it now).

thanks aceraf as said parts were there, practically free but compaired to ebay stuff etc these are oem! bmw parts dont have flicker issues or quality issues and im sure they will last longer oh and the power packs are only 5mm thick...didnt know others were doing this as retail on the e92 components are quite expensive

Very kind comments guys car has been maintained regardless of cost and all work carried out to bmw standards will post some interior shots as soon as i finish my kinda oem custom fit armrest just to show off how mint the leathers are
mattyb240 wrote:I know ppl at BMW who can get me stuff, is it just a straight swap? Good glad the LSD meets ur satisfaction
mate the hid isnt a straight forward swap you have to remove all the original internals of the outer 2 headlights and then mount the new hid bulbs with holder...then the power packs have to be opened in order to moddify the wiring so its a plug and play for the e30....if you get components drop me a P.M and ill advise futher

Thanks mate was reading your thread cant beat a nice e30 cab...as far as

mine goes its had everything done installed a low mileage 325i engine

complete respray at bmw bodyshop was a cromie so tech2 kit, after 3

sets of wheels finally settled on the borbets! got a mint set of black

leathers with custom door cards, had a blue tatty hood so replaced with

black any rust got dealt with changed every rubber seal and last but not

least complete underseal theres lots more but you get the idea :D

If you're using E92 HID parts, does that mean you get Bi-xenon lights, i.e. dip and main with the motorised flap thingy?

If so must surely be the ultimate lighting set-up for an E30

Certainly do mate they are also self leveling so no adjustments needed the only thing is i havent connected the full beam yet but next weekend :D

Top respect to you mate, I'd always wondered if this was possible, but been told by several people that it was impossible mainly because the E30 headlight casing was too small to fit all the mechanism etc inside it, now we know different......

Like Brenner5 said, please please please do a proper write-up on this :notworthy:

Agree its a fantastic mod love the way the lights flick on and then adjust

to the right level...truth is i didnt think it was that much of a big

deal.......Well as stated earlier in thread my brother works for bmw so

him and a tech at work did a joint effort on these so i cant do much of

a "write-up" but im sure they used a dremmil, windscreen glue and lots of

sickytape
