i intend to look after it(not like the last owner, it was a mess when i got it  ) and the xspokes are a pain to clean but it only took a few minutes per wheel. No sneeky trips out, it's not worth it. it is a :cens: not being able to drive it yet, but it will be worth the wait when i do.

i'll try and get some of the interior and engine bay shortly(this weekend if i can)

glad you all like it....because i knoe i do. :D

 have to appluad you on such a nice motor, i trust your keeping it standard.

by billgatese30
i sure am keeping it standard...was considering some genuine alpinas so i didn't have to clean the bbs but i think i'm just gonna keep the bbs and get them refurbed (not that they are that bad) and then jsut clean them regularly with a pressure washer to keep on top of them. other than that i may add some minor ice setup in the future but that will all fit in the original places so it can all be put back to standard if needs be.

mate alpina's are still a bitch to clean i ahve both. Use an old paint brush on the bbs easy.

My tip is get them refurbed and wash them often, thats what i've done and my pina's look like new

yeah, i know mate, thats what i realised when i looked at a few, they still have small gaps and little crevaces (sp) for dirt to get stuck, just not as many as the BBS. just gonna stick with them, get them refurbed and then keep on top of them. they tend to get wshed once a week as it is so they shouldn't get too dirty in that time.

good one adam...what are you getting done exactly, is it much.

i seem to have picked up a nasty dent on the top of my front wing though, it must of been off a pretty large stone. really pissed off now, although it hasn't damaged the paint i'm still less than chuffed, any ideas on how good chipsaway are at removing dents????

Not had any experiences with chipsaway mate but I did get a small dent removed by dentdevils or a similar names company and they made a right hash of a job. You can't beat a proper bodyshop.

I'm getting new rear arches put in and having them flared out at the same time to accept my new euro style dished wheels.

cool, can't wait to see the pics when it comes back. have you got any new tyres or are you sticking with the stretched euro look ones.

Posted: Sat Mar 12, 2005 9:26 pm
by E30Adam
Just bought some more tyres for it, slightly more sensible and with the correct rolling radius. The old ones were 205/40/16's and I've just had some 225/45/16's fitted which is why the rear arches need to be flared to take the wider tyres. They're still slightly stretched on but not so extreme as the 205's.

This is gonna sound real stupid, but next to your handbrake you have two switches, what are they for? I have seen them on a few, but if you never ask you never know. Very sweet, clean ride by the way, I have a soft spot for mint engine bays, VERY NICE.

Regards Mark
