that looks pretty impressive for a DIY job shaz, you've definetely saved yourself quite a bit of money with little comprimise in quality. hows the 335 doing anyway?

looks like a good job :D

from the pics the side pods seem to have a little orange peel....you could try flatting them with some P2000 wet + dry, and then buffing them up. I wouldn't bother with the bumpers as it's hard to buff in all the little crevices (sp).

Good job though, and look forward to seeing pics of the car :D

How many cans did you go through?

Looks great for a DIY job, and how much did it cost you to spray?

To get the shine back after flatting use Farecla G3 or G6. You can then use any good polish to add a bit more shine. I use Farecla Wax Top Polish as it's easy to remove even by hand. It also works on nearly every surface seen as it was made for the trade. :D

You can use the Farecla on your car aswell (G6 or G10 only) to remove swirls and any imperfections in the paint. Oh, and don't forget to Clay Bar it aswell to remove all contaminations from the paint.

:D

Oh, and be careful...P2000 will go through the lacquer very wuickly if you apply too much pressure. Work in circular motions and wipe the panel dry to see which bits need flatting. When you start you'll notice lots of dots (similar to when you flat primer using a guide coat), and you want to make the whole panel matt. Any shiny bits will show as imperfections.

When polishing i'd do it by hand to make sure you don't slip with the buffer, as fresh paint can be ripped off very easily aswell. (that assuming you were going to use a buffer).

Good luck, and look forward to seeing more pics :D

right a small update, took acerafs advice and rubbed one of the wing pods down, then rubbed it down with compound, then used some autoglym paint renovator, then used some mequires polish, very very big improvement in the paintwork, shines alot more, only done this once because i couldnt get a better grip on the panel so what im going to do is put the kit on,then once its secure have another go.

seriously pics do not do no justice at all

heres some more pics-

Dude thats absolutly spot on! Having tried this myself at home i understand how much effort this has taken, the match is spot on, if you polish up the car its only going to get better...

Very well done! :D

cool i assume ur gonna feel like the karate kid with all the wax-on wax-off between then and now lol!

well all i can say is that rubbing that compoun into the panels until it feels smooth takes some serious rubbing,i think im just gona put the kit on and then do it,so much better that way.

but yes you are correct, its gona take some serious hours of waxing on and waxing off.

I have sprayed a tech 2 kit myself in the past and it didnt look anywhere near that good (partly due to halfords paint!).

I know how long this has taken you, nice work!
