Rafs 316i. New shoes!

Hi, i'm new to this forum but have recently brought an E30 316i. Messed about with a mk1 fiesta for a while but as i'm sure some of you can relate it turned out to be more trouble than was worth so i got rid and brought this.
Was abit of a bold move for a first car but i'm not into 106's, saxos and the like and wanted something abit special. Havn't had chance to do much to it yet as i have been abit skint. Anyway pictures,
These are the pictures from the advert,

Then when i got it home, gave it a good clean and promptly removed the nasty hubcaps,
I'm real happy with it, it drives nice and apart from the clutch sticking occasionally (think it needs bleeding) i can't really fault it. First on the list to get are some nice wheels.
Cheers Raf.

Looks like a good car mate!!
Good purchase. If munky gets on the zone, he'll buy your steelies off you, I would have thought. He needs some to convert to banded steels.
Enjoy the car and learning hands on mechanics.

Car looks like a good starting point....how does it run?

Cheers guys. Yeah it runs fine. Abit tappety especially when cold but thats understandable when it's got 140k on it. I've had past experience with beemers though so the high mileage wasn't too much of a worry. It pulls nicely and revs happily so i have faith in it.
Annoying exhaust rattle though. Have been under it and check all the rubbers and they're all fine so i'm guessing it's coming from inside one of the boxes? By no means unbearable though, i just exercise my quick fix of turning up the radio

Thats a vid of when i had fit them on my 1.1. They sing a very sweet tune. Wasn't set up then though.
EDIT: Might swap for a nice set of wheels though

good work mate keep it up, with regard to wheels speak to spadge he has a whole range of bbs's at resonable prices, all depends on wot u want

Some 15'' bbs would go down like a genius but i'm not really fussy just need a half decent set to tide me over until i can afford something abit special. The steels aint too bad but they're not wide enough to be cool and just make it look abit scruffy.

Cheers guys. The insurance is £1300 for the year which for a 17 year old and a group 10 car is really very good.

Bad news

was raining quite bad this morning and i went round a corner and where my tyres are shite cheap things and the back met a manhole cover it spun out and the front hit a barrier at the side of the road. Not too much damage really, need a new bumper, the valance is bent and the sump is screwed. Gutted though

At the moment i'm trying to weigh up what to do. The Mot is due this month and i know that to get it through i'm going to have to weld a small plate in the foot well, where some freak has put filler in there

So wondering wether to fix it or start again.
Any one know how/how hard it is to change the valance? I have located a bumper and valance but the sumps seem to be quite scarce. Cheers, Raf

That's some transformation!
Needs lowering now to do justice to those wheels!
