Hi.

Finally as promised a few weeks ago, I have got some pics of my 1983 beast.

Its my ongoing project, I have started with replacing a few bits like:-

:D New bonnet badge, old one has lost its colour
:D New bonnet strutt, now the bonnet stays up
:D I have removed and started refurbing the original steelies (dont ask why I'm still unsure) JOSHUAHOCKING has kindly loaned me his 14' bottletops :D which I think look pretty good, except the car needs lowering a touch, way too much room under the arches

Jobs left are:

:( Repair rear arch and make rust free.
:( Drivers seat needs a look at, something has broken in there somewhere, clicks when you sit in it.
:( Maybe lower it slightly
:( New back box
:P And finish with an all day valet, followed with a photoshoot somewhere nice

I'm planning on keeping the car as original as possible, as its an untouched honest car with a staggering 44000miles on it, all backed up with Full BMW service history upto 2003, then a local garage looked after it from then. No radio ever fitted.

Well, das ist fantastisch as zee Germans would say :) Don't give in to the "drop it" mood that seems to be consensus on the zone, I for one think it's not necessary if you're going to keep it classic, not performance-oriented.

Ooooh that's nice! :) Definitely wants lowering a touch, preferably on some 15" BBS, & leave it at that.

Cheers for comments

I think standard all the way, dont even think I will fit a stereo :x , its just that ride height!! I want to keep it original but an ever so small drop will make it look that little little bit better. I wont be doing it for a long while yet, just want to get it on the road and start using it. It drives absolutly mint and I'm really looking forward to pimpin around my hood init

fit a stereo! how do you live with out it? you must use plenty of petrol nailing it then? thats your sound track.

oh but if you lower it it wont be standard.is that good or bad?

standard is great.

Just a quick update. I have finally got round to refurbing the steelies as discussed before. Here they are in primer

They have to be left now for 24 hours until I can finish them off with the silver paint.

I have put new BMW badges in the chrome centre caps and given them a good polish.

Fingers crossed they will look pretty good when finished.

Finished pics will be on next week :D

You could put a stereo in (though it's the first time I've ever seen an E30 without one!); there should be speakers already behind the front footwell trims...

Lovely looking 320i dude :thumb:

lol

Its tearing me apart this car! I want so much to have it looking just right regarding wheels and suspension, BUT it HAS to stay STANDARD!!

I keep telling my self!!
It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARDIt HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD It HAS to STAY STANDARD

why?

its about your enjoyment of the car.. is it 100%, and i mean 100% mint, timewarp? if not then whats some factory retro fits? They even do them to Series 1 Mustangs and they are actually worth something..

I see no problems with adding a few tasty extras As long as it can be put back to standard later.

I really rate that car.

I have given in on my 1991 E30 M3 Cab and fitted a modern stereo and a set of 17" Hartge's, though I am looking for a set of 16" Hartge's.

The rest is completely standard, and if I want I can put it back on the 15" BBS (that look way too small) and refit the original stereo...
