This is a 1992 spec DTM car that has just been fully restored by a good mate of mine. It was originally driven by Roberto Ravaglia and is now sitting in storage until its sold

Afraid i cant take any credit for the pics, they were sent to me by the guy that did the restore

Enjoy

Rad Rad car. Gold BBS's would be a final touch tho no?

Would that be road legal in it's current spec?

Its very very difficult to convert a DTM car to road legal specification

As for the gold wheels, presonally the white magnesium wheels are my all time favourite e30 wheel but i guess its down to personal taste

I don't know much about DTM cars, but without wanting to sound thick how do they differ from road legal cars? I know the suspension setup would be completley wrong and the engine wouldn't like being sat in traffic.

Im by no means an expert but from driving them and my dad owning one i would guess the following would need solving -

No door locks or handbrake

The engines wont sit at idle without stalling and will overheat at the drop of a hat

The engines need extensive work after about 1000 miles

Suspension is EXTREMELY stiff and ground clearence is minimal

Tyres would go in no time due to the camber on the front wheels

Brakes dont work until they are hot and need changing reguarly

Noise and emissions are through the roof

You cant see shit through ANY of the mirrors

Engine management systems are located where a passenger seat should be, making more than 1 seat quite tricky

Are center lock wheels or compressed air jacks road legal?

Thats all i can think off the top of my head and like i say, im no expert - im sure there are plenty more problems BUT i know it can be done as iv seen a road legal one :D

If you have the ability im sure it would be amazing fun but for me it was always pretty scary driving it, i knew what it would have cost if anything happened!

TBH i have more fun driving my cecotto ( even though its much slower!)

all of the above can be sorted not easy but not too hard either, biggerst issuue is the engine ( not emmisions or noise) just the way it runs, so a de-tunned s14 ould be the answer ?!

centre lock wheels are fine for raod use
