Some great pics there, where is that (i.e near which towns? )
I went out this morning for a walk up the side of a fell in Grasmere, only a mile or so but even in the cold and rain the views are breathtaking! (or was that the fact i am so unfit!)

Have been that way many times, and love thoes roads. The closer to the north you go the better they get.
Especially round the magic lake...

Having stayed there I can vouch for Dobbies place.... may not be cheap as chips but its really nice, with bar ,and the food is brilliant (Dobbies Hubby does it !) .. and the roads are great (esp for those of us used to choked up SE England !)
(no connection other than Dobbie sorted out some rooms for me and some friends who were mad enough to try and walk 24 peaks in 24 hours for chrity)

I've done Wrynose/Hardknott quite a few times - on the way to Wasdale Head to do many many climbs...
The first time I drove it was just after my 17th birthday in my dads 2.0 Granada - now THERE was a car with a great deal of oversteer. It was just me and my girlfriend Sara, it was wet and cold, and there was much spinning of the wheels on the ups..... I learnt much that day, Grasshopper...................
