Very nice car, only 1 of the pictures worked for me though. My dad used to have a 24v 318 in the same color, but less the Sport bodywork.
Nicely setup motor you have, it seems that dual-pattern cam works well on the 2.7/2.8's, would you agree?
Is the 213/220 at the wheels or crankshaft? Any dyno plots?
Cheers,
Stu

liking that car a lot. didn't realise it was the 2.7 when i saw it karan. do the seats come up when fed/rejuvenated?

the seats are in good nick for 160k paul
i suspect they would look like new if i refurbed them which i may do if i have the time, at the moment the car gets driven a lot and is used like it should be used (grin).
it was in 'banger mode' that day u saw it as it was very dirty, what did u think it was?? It cleans up well though as u can seee from the pics as it was sprayed by a benz bodyshop by the previous owner earlier this year and they did a pretty good job on it alhthough i have to say it is NOT a 100% job prob more like 95% quality.
i have a couple of little dents on the rear passenger 1/4 due to carrying goods in the boot along with spirited cornering so im getting that area redone soon, just to make it perfect again.
i have another sport box to go on also as my one is a bit tired, and ill change its t.belt this month too.
otherwise shes running very sweet indeed with the new manifold which definitley improved the power-enough to stay DEAD level with a boxster from 70 til 130 when he gave up.
also had a play with a new M3 from standstill to 110, and he only pulled out 3 car lengths on me- so i was well chuffed
i wish i had a camera for his face when he saw the 318 badge and i stopped alongside him and told him its just a 318 LOL LOL LOL

i genuinly laughed at that! how fast must he think a 2.0 is? sorry i didn't realise about your engine - i assumed in the absence of any other info it was a 2.5. there's me told. wish i'd spend more time studying it now. in my defence i can say that the cold must have slowed my mental capacity.
the reason i asked about the seats is that they look good enough to come up like new if fed.... yes they are good for 160k - amazingly good.

Car looks very sweet and so does the manifold. If only I had answered yes to Demlotcrew when he asked me if I wanted the manifold as he was taking it off the car in the scrappy near where I live. I bet Demlotcrew wished he had kept hold off it too! Oh well, another time.

Never mind the manifold where did you get those horns from!? not mentioned in your spec! nice ride

cheers guys!
am probably selling her this summer i think, as i have another project on the go! Even though i only bought her in May i Dunno if i could bring myself to let her go as she's an awesome car and ive had some wicked times in it, sorted in every department with a useable amount of power, good enough to show boxsters who's boss

Its also soooo easy to drive and drift around once u get used to it!
the twin horns are from halfords, i just stuck em on as the horn wasnt working so it wouldnt have passed MOT.
oh its done 162k miles by they way, about 80k since engine was built.

cheers for the BIG UP Sal!
shes definitely a bit quicker now with new manifold on, but i dont wanna mess with tuning the car as i cant really do anything to it hence the project. Just gonna poly bush the anti roll bars, fit new control arms, droplinks and track rods and drive it like its meant to be driven. i actually have also found a much better sport box to go on it which im also gonna put on.
as for power figures i have no idea but will dyno it in easter time, but it does 60 in 6 secs flat always and 1/4 in 14.5. top whack gps'd at 145mph, speedo was readong 155 and stopped moving but revs carried on rising to 6400rpm, i let go then!! or it would have been
U have first dibs IF i come to sell it once the project is done and drives as it should!!
cheers

hey mate, love the engine pics. quick question how did you set up you air intake. what brands are the peices. im looking to do something like that but cant seem to find anything were i live. thanx for time, bimmer adam

by Karan
hi mate
the intake is as follows:
1. Big bore throttle body
2. Samco custom elbow
3. Mass air meter conversion
4. samco joint
5. BMC carbon dynamic airbox with outlet behind lights- full beam can be removed for track use etc and colder intake charge
sounds nice but the BMC is basically a glorified airfilter as opposed to a carbon airbox, and its abit pricey too.
