For one, the TB pipes are slightly different... the ICV is also different...

There may be other subtle changes as well...

My turrets have been chopped and moved by M-tech, Only just found this out as I have had major probs getting wheel alignment right.

I compared to another e30 and you can see these are cut and weilded with a greater rake towards back of car.

You what...? Your suspension turrets have been cut and re-positioned by BMW Motorsport...?

What's the history of this car...? I've never heard of that before!

I ve had the car for six years and never knew this but I was told by someone that had seen a program on TV that this is part of the modification that motorsport make to the suspension. When i was told I opened bonnet and compared to car right next to it and they are correct.

The turret tops are cut and repositioned and sit with the tops slightly towards the back of the car.

As I said I have always had problems getting wheel alignment done and never seems correct but I did find a garage that knew this was non standard and set the car up correctly.

I have the history of the car as I was given a lot of info from BMW as I lived next to the dealer that sold the car back in 89. I have also found that my car has the newer brake calipers (from 90 model) and no one lists this caliper for my car (89 model)

When I ordered new calipers from Euro car parts they were wrong and had to be returned and re ordered for 90 model.

I was also told by BMW that there were only 279 of these made for the UK but I dont know if that is correct or not ?

Cheers.

Just another thought , Are e30 M3 turrets modified in any way from standard.

I am also talking about Motorsport , Is that same as Tech 1 Tech 2 ?

My car is a Motorsport Cabrio so maybe this is a cabby only mod ? , Although this is not what I was lead to believe.

I will try entering vin when I get home .

Cheers.

Aaaah... now I see.

ALL cabrios had an extra strengthening suppport on the turrets. They look like wings that are welded onto the outer edge of the inner arch. Maybe this is what you are thinking of as the modification. They didn't move the turrets, just provided extra support due to the car having no fixed roof!

Hi this is my motorsport cabriolet engine bay. Think yours should look something like this with the extra suspension supports:

Yes this is correct mine does have these extra supports but you will also see that your turrets have extra bits weilded in and sit at a differant angle from standard e30. I had these side by side it it was quiet noticable that the turrets seem to sit tilted further towards back.

But again maybe this is just a cab mod ?

Sorry dont want to steal this guys thread by changing subject to much and diverting subject to cabrio turrets. I will try find out more and take a pic or two.
