Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say hello and I hope to participate here, I have will add a couple of pics at a later date of my E30 Pickup, currently running a 320i, looking to upgrade to 325 or 327, firstly though Im getting the Mtec kit on and lowering the suspension yet again, am contemplating air suspension but not decided at the mo. As for sounds (in the cab)--running sony head supported with 800w amp running 6 x 6x9's, 2 x 6.5s and 4 x separate tweeters...im currently building boxes to house 4 x 8" subs to be located beneath the recaro's but due to limited space is proving a mission. BUT IT WILL FIT...some how LOL.. plans for the back tray-- not going to give my ideas away due to a few pickups being built but I will say 4x12", 4x10", 2 x Horns and 3 inline amps, involves linear actuators a shed load of perspex and hopefully a very pleasant bank manager!
Cheers Dave[/code]

i liked it, its different and if your doing an engine conversion maybe a V8 lump might be an idea to give it that american muscle truck feel to it, just a suggestion though!

Thanks everyone,
I have thought about dropping a V8 lump into the pickup and am actually watching on ebay a motor suitable.......but it all comes down to that nasty word.....cash! but if any of you are thinkin big things to drop into your 30.....there is a very rare 5litre BMW V12 going on ebay with all ancillaries out of a 750i I believe.
I would love too but at the moment its not an option for 1 to be without my bimmer and 2 just cash to start over and 3 I dont think I got the stamina to do the late nights again with summer comming up lol.
But its a great thought......it would be awesome but at this stage pretty much a dream.
cheers all
Dave

Dave, welcome.
I really didn't like your car. Guess it's a "love it or hate it" kinda thing.
However, with an M Tech kit and a "proper" engine my mind will quite possibly be changed.
Good luck with it

Dave , nice to see you on the Zone mate - didn't get round to introducing myself to you but i thought your pick up was great. I love it when some ones got the balls to express individual taste on their car and personalize it to their liking. As mentioned above, like Marmite - you either love it or hate it. I'm going with the later option.
Can't wait to see her finished and boasting her presence at the future meets.
Congrats + welcome, Neil.

Cheers all,
Yes its a love or hate thing when it comes to choppin an E30, but in my eyes its just giving something that was old a new lease of life....and I can get more birds in the back of mine chaps lmao.
I went to Ace on Wed nite to look at some V8 conversions and found some of the guys quite helpful as to what ronning gear would be required etc. If I did decide one day to convert it to a V8 it would probably be a small block Chevy due to the availability and cost of parts, but who knows hey.
The bodykit is being sprayed at the moment and will be fitted early next week, once that is on, probably look a wheel spacers and ride height. But dont reallly want to do anything to drastic with summer (not exactly sure which day it will be) coming up to be without her.
PS does anybody know of a 525i (12v) engine, auto box and prop shaft going (and the ecu and loom), if you do please message me.
Cheers
Dave

As I have not seen that issue of performance BMW I cannot say but it has been in Redline, I think the only way of getting the car into the likes of MaxPower is to load the back with models and send them a pick telling them how you can get 20 girls into a Bimmer E30..lol.
Does anyone know of a roof spoiler going for sale?
And Still a recommended Pipe Bender is still required.
Cheers
Dave

Hey guys sorry been away for a while!
Just to answer the question regarding the back box, I actually picked it up off ebay so not sure if its an off the shelf item or not, it was listed under e30 spares if that helps.
Just to update, a decision has been made to drop a 325 motor and auto box into the car until after summer when a pedal box conversion will commence to manual. Only reason for this is I cant see myself without my beloved for any amount of time during summer and the conversion to 325 and auto box is pretty straight forward. I am looking at a 525 complete car later this week, the 12v model as I am led to believe it is the better lump to put in....all comments welcome. I know I have to change the sump to a 325 (already got and the engine mounts got too)
So as soon as the engine is removed and checked and a auto box found it will be dropped in.
The body kit mtec1 is going on on friday, a little later than expected but after priming and sanding I wanted it redone so set me back a little, but it will be worth while in the long run.
I am still after somebody who can pipe bend me a roll bar for the back and then chrome plate it, so if anyone knows of a reputable engineering firm please message me.
Let me just say looking at all of your cars makes me proud to be part of this group, keep up the great work on the greatest cars the good old E30's.
Cheers guys

hi mate last year i decided to cut my 325 tourer into a pickup and i fitted a 3.5 litre rover v8 .i was not impressed with the power.i then picked up a un-finished cosworth e30 from ebay for engine and all fittings .when i went to remove engine found how much work had been carried out so got rid of pickup.

SW London - it all clicks into place now - saw your pickup in Balham not to long ago, about 6/6:30 in the morning.
