Actually this pic is a bit deceiving, it actually looks lower than this! THis is a 35/40 drop though, and with the problem I've had with speed bumps, I am considering raising it!

Stealth that's an almost perfect drop, wish you knew what it was :(

DemonDaz are those 16s or 17s? I'm thinking 60mm front and 40 rear at the moment on 17" wheels - very few speed humps round here

has to be 60 front i think. it just looks to high on 40.

but mines 40 and i have problems getting on off my drive, and car parks are a no go.

25mm Avo Springs all round, they been good to me so far, and sits low for conisidering the springs used.

Zayyan, they are 16's. I like the 60 drop (mine had that when I bought it) but I couldn't drive the car anywhere!
The missus managed to rip the exhaust off, good job reallym it needed doing and gave me 1) an excuse to get it done, and 2) loads of brownie points!!!

I think Gouki has the best drop for practical use.

your car looks fine, -60mm is a good drop anymore and it will look silly. :?

Wilson, There are speed bumps on some of the back roads near my house, but the mother in law has a caravan in Hastings, and the site has some horrendous ones. There are also some on site at work that I have grounded on.

Couple of car parks have caused problems... Turned in with someone behind only to find a steep slope into the car park with nothing to do except grind the front

Here is my car, i put a 40 mm drop, i havent had many problems with bumps, i just need to keep reminding myself to slow down and take it easy (thank god for my sump guard  ). At first i was very impressed with the drop the felt tighter and not as boaty around corners, i do scratch my Mud flaps but thats fine.
My only bad experiance has been the dicks who "fixed" my slight camber and damaged my rear control arms. my advice, once you drop it drive it for a while, and only if the camber, which would be very little on a 40mm drop, starts to really piss you off, then go about correcting it the proper way with Adjustable Trailing Arm Bushings.
Here she is:

PS: the back looks really low but that was beacuse the rear shocks were finished, i replaced them and now the back is a little higher.

ive just had mine changed from a 60mm all round to a 40mm and the difference was noticable plus it now looks alot better at the rear end will post some pics up as soon as i take some.

Thanks for the pics guys :)

60/60 does look the bollocks but with the negative camber and the cost of 17" tyres I think 60/40 would be the best compromise :?

Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2006 9:37 pm
by panesar_e30
in my opinion zayyan, do a 60/60, ive done it on all my e30's wether they have been on the 15"bbs's or the toplines.

tyres are not as expensive as you may think, good quality brand wil cost around Ԛ£40 from ebay.

lowered 60 all round wont cause any probs either, i have had three people in the back, a full load in the boot, and been over speed bumps with no rubing issues. :D

speaking from experience with a 60mm drop, I had a few problems with the bumpers and bottom of the skirts scraping on humps if i was a bit over enthusiastic although thats possibly down to the kit sitting low as it is, i got pretty tired of it very quickly specially slowing down to snail pace for those humps. I still got the springs somewhere I'll have to sell those at some point when i find them!
