Hi All,
Just thought I'd add a post of my 1991 318is.
It's been in my ownership for 6 years, recently taken out of storage and putting it back on the road since I was locked in the UK during lockdown and I usually work abroad I thought it would be a good time to make progress.
Very comprehensive recommissioning, pretty much a case of - if it's rubber/foam/fluid it's been ordered direct from BMW and replaced!
Under Bonnet:
Full new exhaust, belts, fluids, thermostat, all new gaskets for inlet manifold/lower sump/valve-cover/oil-filter-housing, timing chain tensioners, water and vacuum hoses.
New fuel filter, fuel pipes, screenwash bottle cleaned & new pipes, T-piece, washer nozzles and pump (did the lot!)
Chassis:
New discs & pads, dampers/track-rods & ends/front wishbones, new tyres, new differential bush pressed in.
Body & Interior:
New genuine IS front splitter, dash illumination and warning light bulbs, new window/mirror/cut-off/light switches & sunroof seals.
New under-bonnet sound isolation which I particularly like!
Damaged fog light lens replaced with genuine original part, likewise passenger wing mirror which had some tape removal damage (don't ask!)
Very glad to have it back in the garage, where evening fettling is now unobstructed!
Currently going through the interior and sorting some tired looking bolster edges and cleaning the carpets/parcel shelf since someone put the wrong speakers in the rear I've sourced some OEM replacements & speaker grilles and will do the headunit in due time.
Some original sale pictures here from the sale and some up to date ones.
