I have been working on my e30 for the last month or so and have put the pictures on youtube detailing the progress. it was a left hand drive e30 and was suffering from quite a bit of rust. i have finished off the right hand drive conversion, fitted the cage and have removed and plated most of the rust, i have an e30 M3 body kit to fit but i will leave the original steel quarters on and tub the arches as i want it to keep its strength. I usually work on compacts and if i had one in the same condition as the e30 it would go straight to the dump but as a clean e30 is getting hard to find it is worth spending the time repairing what i have. I am not a mechanic and do this in the evenings and weekends but i am enjoying the progress. i am currently fitting a corsa c power steering motor to the e30 steering column and am fitting a z4 steering rack. if it is of any interest the first of many short videos are here. if you watch the first one you will see it is quite literally car porn

Nice car buddy and welcome to the zone! should have kept it lhd as it helps with a lot of engine conversions :D

i thought about keeping it lhd but getting a decent steering rack would be hard to find and i much prefer driving rhd. I used to have a lhd car and trying to put tickets into the car park barriers was a problem along with trying to overtake other cars on the road.
The guy who painted the car also painted the dash and kept that for the art. it would be interesting to see what he did with the dash, that was another reason not keeping it lhd as i can imagine getting the lhd dash wouldn't be easy.
