Evening,
Some of you may know this car already (Peets 318 restoration)
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=
A friend and I have recently bought Mr Peets project to finish as he has lots of other commitments on the go. Ant’s done a great job putting the car back together and it’s not far off running and driving. So far we have sorted the wiring and plumbed the fuel system in.
The car has been sat in a college for many years and hasn't even reached 1000 miles. It's my understanding that bmw gave this car to Preston college for students to work on. This has been confirmed by bmw and a friends father remembers teaching students with this very car (small world). The car has been put back together using 318is running gear and has a very clean sport Interior.
This afternoon we managed to get it fired up (started first time I might add). Now the fuel has been sorted we have the rear brakes, prop shaft, exhaust and the odd bit of wiring and cosmetics to sort before she can drive for the first time in over 20 years.
Here’s a few pictures to start with and will keep you all informed of any progress. Can’t believe cars with this low mileage even exist!
Amazing how quick red fades when left. How the car arrived

50/50 after 3m compounding.

Tuck some elbow grease but the results are worth it

IS rear bumper needs to be fitted and trim to be sorted

I will refine with a 2 stage Polish and finish with 2 coats of wax once we have the car running and driving.
I am a huge bmw fan owning a z3m coupe and e46 m3 but have a soft spot for the e30's, these cars really have aged well. We will hopefully have put another one back on the road very soon.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers
Adam
