The green machine

This thing has been my daily for 16 years now and has rarely let me down. Started out life as a 320 but now has a 2.5 with 112k on it. The only rust it has is on the tailgate but I'll be getting a new one from BMW shortly (surprisingly cheaply). It had a lot of boxes ticked back in '89, aircon, climate control, heated everything, but most importantly, no sunroof! It's pretty much standard apart from being lowered 30/30 on B4s and eibachs. There's not too much in the way of council activity, just the black grill/clear lens combo.

Malachite is a lovely colour and your Touring looks very nice, especially as its a daily.

So it came as a 320 fitted with Recaros from new then?

It had sports seats from new, the recaros were a bargain I couldn't pass by.

I never comment on people's cars, never comment on much at all really, but that looks absolutely spot on, you've got it just right in my opinion.

Nice example. What does the small '2' on the number plate between 'TL-GF' signify?

It means I've lost one set of plates and these are replacements :o:

I do want a fan shroud but am not 100% sure the aftermarket radiator will accomodate it. It's a VAG filler cap? I had no idea!

Yes it will fit. I can see where the two upper mounting plastic rivets fit from your pic.

Mooie touring! Tail gate doesn't look to bad from the pics! I have those same seats for my own touring, wouldn't get rid of them ever!

The tailgate isn't actually that bad, just a bit of bubbling at the bottom right corner that you can see in the pic and some minor blemishes under the side trim pieces. The main problem for me is that the glass has some weld rash on it and only a couple of the heating elements work so I thought I'd go the whole hog and get a new tailgate/glass rather than trying to replace the old glass and fix the rust.
