Hi Guys, this is my 318IS.

My family have owned countless BM's over the last few years and there seems to be a new one about every two months.
This my 2nd BM and I spent some time picking the right one, originally I wanted an e21 as I had owned an e12 and wanted something smaller, but then this came up on Gumtree back in April and upon viewing I bought it on the spot, incidentally I drove to see it in my e12 and the bloke who sold me the car ended up buying mine.

High millage at 210,000 but after reading about the M42 I wasn't put off, paint was flat and had a couple of tiny rust spots and there was a small dent under the rear numberplate. Interior is still spotless.

After driving it for a week or so I decided that this was going to be a keeper and with that I looked into getting a respray and some small rust repairs.

So here it is.
These photos are from the day I bought it.

You can see the rust and small dent clearly in this photo

This is it the day I collected it after the work.

Recently I have replaced the brakes as they were warped and did a quick oil change, can't believe BMW would have charged £130 for an oil change. It cost about 30 to do the whole thing.

Anyway so thats my car.
I'll be going to Retro Rides gathering on Sunday and the car will be up on the club stand. So come and introduce yourselves.

Jim

Cheers mate, I got really lucky with mine. If one comes up at a decent price and in good condition I say go for it!

The only thing its missing is the sound of a BMW straight six

Looks really nice, specially after the re-spray :), how much was that, if you don't mind me asking ? I have an i s, also in white, only had it a few weeks, I'd say the top half is good, but would benefit a bottom half respray !

PS, didn't you take the rear spoiler of for the respray ?

Cheers guys.

The respray was done by Dave Jones, he is based just off the M25 by Epping his number is 07769515292.

Really good bloke, he has a lovely e21 himself so he loves working on old beemers, He did a lot of extra work for free too, guess he takes great pride in his work..

Have had an issue with the bearings in the water pump lately so booked it in down at Avers Racing in Redruth, while it was there I thought I might as well get the springs replaced as they had been an advisory on its last M.O.T.
Its had a full service too.

Decided I would go with a slight drop, so its now 30mm lower at the front and 40mm at the rear.
Not seen it in the flesh yet as i'm back in London so they've sent me over a couple of photos.

I think its sitting a lot better, can not wait to get behind the wheel!!

I'll try and get some better shots once I'm down there

Just needs a set of Compomotive TH or possibly the 15'' version of your crosspokes? I prefer the TH though, as you know.
