Is performance an issue? I just had this conversion done myself and I am a bit underwhelmed.... Gonna give a service and minor tune up but thought I'd be spinning wheels up to 3rd gear and it's struggling to do that at the mo. Not sure if it's the extra weight perhaps of the touring over the rear wheels?

No bud it performs really well, I don't know what it is I'm just not feeling it as much a I was,
Maybe it will grow on me, I'm a old ford man at hart I got the e30 thinking/hoping it would pull me
Away from rusty old shit but it's not doing it
Maybe getting out and about to afew meets and shows will
Change my mind,

Dan, the M30 does drive quite different I agree, it's effortless torque rather than a screaming revvy thing. Just takes a bit of getting used to I think. Am sure you will love it. Have you done many 3rd gear power runs yet ??

I've driven it local jumbo which is all speed bumps ect so no not really, it's a quick car I have no doubt in that
I prob do need to get out in it more, I've even been thinking of pulling the m30 out and replacing it with an
M50/52, I built my eldest son a compact with an m52 in it an I've got to admit it goes very well,

A chip can spice up the M30B35 significantly, and make it feel like the big engine it is.
With the standard chip program, they feel a bit flat in the lower part of the rev range.

Yer, I'd agree with the chip upgrade, only a few quid also.
I think the M30's respond well to a lightened flywheel, makes them a bit more zippy. If you can be bothered to change it now.

How much for the chip upgrade speed touch ? Will it give it any power gains?
Jumbo I might lighten the fly wheel after the show season if I still have it,

Whats that air filter? no doubt you will be losing power with that being so close to the exhaust manifold.

I just have standard 325 shocks and springs as its a cabby, you would want something a bit firmer to really enjoy some spirited driving I would say.
