Here is my '89 Nissan Vanette.
I'll keep this short and let the pictures do most of the talking as I don't want to bore you.

It started out like this..

A 1.5 manual petrol.

Drove it to Monte Carlo and back for charity.

While over there, it started to smoke a lot. Turns out the piston rings were gone. Parts for the original engine were like rocking horse poop.
Only thing to do was find another engine.

(I have no pics of the engine out)

I won a e30 318i m40 engine by accident for £60

Here it is all in.

Just had some problems with the gearbox linkage, so long story short, I have a auto box on the way.

I should also mention, I have 7 weeks to get it sorted and running until I take it on a charity drive around Europe with 10 other cars.

I'll keep you updated.

lets hope the camshaft isn't worn otherwise they are a brilliant engine and last very well as long as the oil is changed on time.

I know its for charity but you don't have to drive that!

How do you intend to sort the gear linkage?

I owned a Vanette,a D plate '86.Bought it new in '86 and ran it for 7 years, then a female pulled out of a side turning in front of me
Mine was a diesel,though.

I must admit this has become a problem right about now, to get the van running for the Europe drive it is having an auto box put on, but when I'm back I will be sorting the manual box and gear linkage.
