Hey all,

Wanted to introduce my '89 325i Touring. Bought and picked her up about a month ago. I didn't get a huge amount of history with the car - so if anyone recognises it, give me a shout!

Apologies in advance for the bad quality iphone pic - will try and get some better ones uploaded, as the car progresses.

Cheers!

:P

I recognise this car from Ebay.

Do a spec check on this as I think this car came from factory with the tech2 kit.

You have to do something about those odd looking seats you have got in there but otherwise Looks fairly decent in the picture.

Hey Fastroad - yes, you are right; that's where I got it from (eBay).

I've got the original spec from BMW and unfortunately it doesn't mention anything about the Tech2 kit. Looks like it could be a genuine/original kit though.
It did come with a quite a few other interesting extras, including an LSD, Crimson Red interior and self-levelling suspension.

I'm not keen on the front seats either. Ideally I'd want to put a red leather interior back in. (On the hunt for some sports seats to get re-trimmed).

Just working through the car methodically at the moment to get things straightened out.
So far I've dropped/replaced all fluids, changed all the belts, new water pump, new rad, new thermostat, camshaft seals, new front wheel bearing, and fixed the crappy speedo sensor connectors on the diff.

Also, done some serious cleaning! Polished up the Scorp exhaust:

Shiney!

Exhaust looks photoshopped, great job.

Any chance of posting up the spec sheet??

Any interior pics? Does it still have self levelling at the rear fitted?

Its a shame some retard has molested it and thrown out the front seats. Its such a rare spec. Good like trying to find red leather front sport seats, they are impossible to find.

Hi Blitz,

Yeah, the box and all the ancillary wiring is still there and plumbed in. It's not working though. :(

I was gutted when the original spec came through, and I saw everything it left the factory with. Just proof some people shouldn't be let loose on anything more than a used Dacia Sandero.

I'm planning on keeping the car for a while and getting her back up to scratch. In terms of the seats, I reckon the best bet would be to get some sports seats and have them re-trimmed in red leather.

I'll take some interior pics later today...

Anthracite cloth and Crimson red leather listed? How did that come about then?
I didn't think tourings could be optioned with red leather?
Nice looking e30 though in White, suits the kit well. 8)

White with blacked out kidney grill looks good. Hope you can undo the mods.

They all come up with Crimson Red Leather, no idea why. Don't feel too gutted, it hasn't been skipped!
Nice car though, I'd really go for that. LSD is a very nice option to have and map reading light is a rare one on a touring. It looks like someone wanted a Sport Touring!

Bin the Alpina reps and you'll have a really nice E30.

As above. Many touring spec checks list crimson leather AND the correct trim. No UK cars were ever delivered with crimson leather, I believe it is just a glitch with the system.

Has it still got the LSD ? that is the question . Many have had a 'safety conversion' over the years :)

Thanks for all the positive comments guys - much appreciated. Really enjoying ownership (so far!)

@pacerpete - It still has the LSD in place. Surprisingly lively if you aren't paying attention in the wet!

@Morat - Yep, couldn't agree more. The wheels will be changed soon enough!
