Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the owner of a car that is rare...

Seriously tho this is my 88 alpina. Rare 1 of 3 left in uk as far as im led to believe.

The spec...

Originally a 325i sport auto was then taken back to sytner who fitted the c2.5 tuning package ( cam, 6 branch exhaust, ecu ) and styling (front splitter, pinstripes, Steering wheel , clocks 16x7.5 and 16x9 j alpina classics)

later models didn't include 6 branch manifold.

now has

adjustable top shock mounts
Lowered approx 100mm
custom smoked rear lights etc

Heres a few pics :)

There are more than three left and the wheels are 7J and 8J.

Also, it would have been converted when new or its a fake.

I have a c2.5 four door. There were 73 of them made in the uk covering all body shapes. i don't know how many are left in touring form, doubt anyone does.

The 100mm drop is madness, the rear lights are murder.

As Barry says, I think all c2.5s came 'from the factory'.

Do you have the Synters record of the build ?

As far as I was made aware by a chap with a stunning blue alpina c2.5 touring there 3 uk rhd touring c2.5s left . I dont know this for gospel.

The wheels I always thought were 7.5 and 9j I'll have another look and get back to you on that next time I take center caps off.

Heres a few pages of the original brochure you may find usefull.

I dont have sytners build record just a confirmation of it being a c2.5 that I got from sytner. I do have the pre alpina fittings list that they printed out for me. I'll dig them out and upload them.

Sounds plausible to me I bought it of ebay lol. I admit it has slipped since. Its had the original engine rebuilt now. While that was out I fitted an m20b25 turbo manual I had lying around as it was my only car.

No need to get back to me about the wheels, i've had enough sets to know what sizes they are.

I also have 3 Alpina E30 brochure and even a press pack, coincidentally from L&C.

There is an Alpina green C2 2.5 touring about to arrive at my workshop for some work.

welcome to the zone mate. are you gonna keep it lowered with the "tinted" rear lights and blacked out windows and eyebrows or gonna return it to a more original look?

i've always wondered abot the c2.5 and c2 2.5 thing. i thought the c2.5 was an aftersales upgrade package and c2 2.5 was when the whole lot was done in one go :?

This is often a subject of confusion.

The original C2 2.5 was based on the 323i and was a 2554cc version which used an eta block, 323i crank and custom mahle pistons, worked head, 268 degree cam, exhaust system and six branch.

The C2.5 (quite often badged as C2 2.5) was based on a sept '87 onward 325i and was just a cam, ECU and exhaust system. Earlier ones had the six branch.

The Alpina Sport pack was just the cam, ECU and exhaust available on any 325i.

The Alpina 3 was just the styling package of wheels, spoilers, steering wheel, gearknob and "ALPINA" badge on the boot.

Shanehaward - splitter is not for sale
Kam-325i - cheers for the link a good bit of info on there.
Fastroad - I like the back lights, I still have originals to swap over. I'll see how I feel once its all shiny and back together.

Last weekend I set about changing the petrol tank. Just like all e30s this one rusted through around the fuel filler neck.
I forgot to start taking pics before I started so out with the old.

Image
No rust :) so to make sure no rust crops up I undersealed it while tank is out.

Image
halfway through shot

Image
undersealed back axle and arms to clean them up. The rest can be undersealed at work once road ready.

Barry, I'm sure the early C2 2.5 only came with a modified cast manifold.
