Hello,

I have a hardtop for my E30 but have found you need a special tool to attach the hardtop to the body.

Does anyone know where you can find these tools? Or failing that does anyone have any useful tips for attaching the hardtop?

Thanks

Is it the tool to tighten the nut on the hardtop pin or the hardtop pin itself ?

Z3I is your man, he used to keep spares. I got mine from him, with a hardtop.

You only need to adjust the nuts once, when you first fit it.

Not worth getting a special tool when water pump pliers do the job.

I'm pretty sure it is a 11mm for the top nut which locks the pin in but the tool you need is this one in the link http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E30-325is- ... /ES157785/

Thanks for all the help! If a pair of water pump pliers does the job then il try that, I'm not going to use the hard top often so seems a waste to pay £30 for one, there are plenty of parts I could use the money more wisely on, like it needs an alternator as the battery isn't charging well, a Bosch one will set me back £50.
