You should get the before & after shots up, it's a real credit to you!

Andy Totten, I believe you can see him in the above pictures, taking sanctuary from the sun, under a fetching straw hat! :D

I didn't have a car in the show. :(

17x8.5s all round mate, decided for the square set up rather than staggered to fill the front arch that bit better!. 8)

It's on his emerald green chromie & all. There's pictures somewhere, it's a real beauty & the bastart is gong to the ring AND seeing pink Floyd when he's out there.

He told me this while I was pulling a 16 hour shift. Like I said... bastart! :D

Well I got this wee motor back in 2007 when I was 16. Totally standard motor that was very faded!. Also knew the history of the car so was a good bonus. At the time I was planning on kitting it like a sport rep but decided against it in the end up.

Completely stripped inside and out. Everything taken apart and cleaned and underneath all wax oiled. After this started to build back together again then benefitted from:
- Bodywork machined polished
- 14”a BBS sprayed Nogaro silver in the centre
- Lowered 60/40
- Smoked indicators & side repeators
- Rear headrest conversion
- Fogs fitted
- Janspeed twin exhaust

Leaving like this:

After this, a few upgrades in the form of 15”a BBS wheels, rear pop out windows, black kidney grills, oil cooler grill, full stainless steel Powerflow exhaust along with other bits & bobs that ain’t coming to mind.

Then due to insurance reasons I couldn’t insure it anymore so bought this roundabout, Audi 80

Image

And left it sitting like this, really loved this wee car haha winkeye

Image

Image

When I could get insured again, I decided to get the finger out and bring it back on the road. The car benefitted from a general tidy up such as
- Fresh paint
- Arches stone chipped and painted
- Suspension components rubbed down and repainted
- Exhaust polished from front to back
- All plastics cleaned & freshened up
- All nuts & bolts replaced with fresh items

Built up again getting ready for MOT

Image

Image

Some new updates since it was last on the road
- Removed eyebrows
- Coilovers
- 17”a 8.5 BBS RS reps
- New rear genuine moulded mudflaps
- LaminX headlights & fogs
- E28 M535 spoiler
- Metro plates

LaminX 50/50

Wheels

And how it was sitting after being freshly detailed with thanks to a mate

Image

Then managed to get a M-Tech 2 steering wheel which needed retrimmed. Decided to go different so had it finished in suede with ///M colour stitching. Top job really well pleased.

Image

After this it went into hibernation for winter.

The next summer I took a head stagger. I wasn’t bringing it out due to final year in uni & changing insurance companies but pulled the cover off & sort of changed my mind lol So taxed and tested and back on the road. Spent a few weeks beforehand cleaning underneath again, calipers/discs repainted, exhaust polished & repainted the studs in gold again they had lost their colour with being reps.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Then decided to change the centre cap colour. Went for red centres with gold writing so order them of Ebay :D really good job and nice change. Also fitted a Z3 short shifter, makes some difference!.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

After keeping an eye on a set of SE skirts I managed to find a set more or less on my door step. Mint condition with no cracks and a few clips along with them. Few pics before being cleaned up..

Image

Image

Got them back from the paint shop, very good job. Also had a spare set of side mouldings so had them freshly painted gloss black too”¦

Image

Image

All plugs, clips etc that needed order where bought in local BMW garage”¦

Image

Both skirts now fitted. Really happy with the outcome, fairly changes it up a bit”¦

Image

Image

And as it sits at present from tonight

Image

Image

Image

Also bought a set of wind defectors, soon to be fitted”¦

Image

Will be going off the road now shortly again for winter but have a few more plans such as more stance along with E36 M3 alcantara interior

Thanks for looking
Comments appreciated
And sorry for the amount of photos
